Who are we?

    We strive to educate ourselves and others about the importance of gender/sexual identity education. 


What is gender identity education and why is it important?


    Gender identity education is understanding how constructions of masculinities and femininities influence everyone's public and private lives. It's also about learning your own gender identity. It's important to do so because gender is a big part of who you are and self-awareness will lead to a better life for both you and the people around you. 


What is sexual identity education and why is it important? 

    Sexual identity education is understanding that heterosexuality isn't the norm and learning to be unbiased and non-judgemental towards non-hetero people. Also, like gender identity education, it's also about finding out your own sexual orientation because self-awareness will lead to a better life for both you and the people around you.

  

Why are you focusing on 義務教育 (compulsory education)?

    The majority of LGBT people start to develop their understanding of their sexual orientations at ages 10-14.  The more youth are in an environment that supports LGBT, the more they won’t have to deal with things like bullying because of being a gender/sexual minority or gender dysphoria.
